Daniel Janke

Daniel Janke is a composer and filmmaker who was born in Edmonton, but grew up in Ontario. He now divides his time between Montréal (Québec) and Whitehorse (Yukon). Works include String Quartet No. 1 for the Penderecki String Quartet, Miniatures for Nouvel Ensemble Moderne du Québec, and Vernacular No. 1 for the Vancouver Symphony. He has composed music for other ensembles including Array Music, Continuum, Batterie Park, and the Evergreen Club Contemporary Gamelan. Daniel’s 2009 film How People Got Fire received numerous awards. He was a writer on the CBC series Northern Town, and recently completed the short film Finding Milton for Bravo. He is currently working a new feature film.
