Mårten Josjö

Mårten Josjö was born 1969 in Östersund (Sweden). He first headed for a career as a classical guitarist, but during his studies at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm he changed focus from playing to writing, and he ended up in the composition class. Among his tutors there were prof. Pär Lindgren, prof. Bent Sørensen, Lars Ekström, Lars-Erik Rosell and William Brunson. He has never regretted the change, especially not when he enjoyed listening to his diploma piece, a guitar concerto, sitting in the audiotorium. The nervousness in listening to music is more endurable than that of playing classical guitar in public with vibrating fingers.

He also works as a teacher and still plays the guitar and even sings in public, but this is going on in the weddingpartyband which is his favourite hobby. Besides chamber and orchestra music, Mårten Josjö has also written for film and puppet theatre.
