E27: Musiques sublimées — Quatuor Bozzini

    Quebec City (Québec)

A minimalist performance that explores a world of small gestures, both absurd and simple, through music and theatre. Kagel’s first two quartets — key works of the 1960s that are rarely heard in concert — are juxtaposed against other works for strings that mix artistic mediums, taking the genre to its limits.

Also on the programme: Nicole Lizée’s Hitchock Études for string quartet and video projection, Michael Oesterle’s Kangaroo with choreography by Danse K by K, and Anthony Tan’s new work Ways of Returning, for string quartet and live projections by Louis-Robert Boucharda.

This programme forges links between new and old, breaking all conventions of the string quartet concert through contrast and collaboration.
