Initiated by Quasar and the Quatuor Bozzini, Montréal—Hanovre is based on an exchange between these two Montréal groups and the musicians of ur.werk and Flex Ensemble from Hanover. For the occasion, each ensemble commissioned works from composers from Canada and Germany. Spread out over two evenings during which a Montréal ensemble and a Hanoverian ensemble will perform on stage, Montréal—Hanovre is intended to be an innovative and highly enriching communion for musicians, composers and the public between Canadian and German contemporary music. Following the two concerts in Montréal, Quasar and Quatuor Bozzini will join ur.werk and Flex Ensemble on the other side of the Atlantic in May 2022 to continue this promising collaboration.
This concert is presented as part of the second part of Résonance croisée, a project of Le Vivier.
