Concordia Creative Music Institute 2014

An intensive workshop on performing music of the 20th and 21st centuries with individual and ensemble coaching and introduction sessions on new music, improvisation, experimental music, rehearsal techniques, etc. The workshop concludes with the participants’ concert.

The Concordia Contemporary Music Institute 2014 takes place on May 8-11, 2014 at the Music Department of Concordia University in Montréal (Québec). Classes will run from 10am to 5am. Participants will have access to practice rooms. The workshop ends with a participants concert on Sunday May 11, 2014. This concert will be recorded (audio and video), participants will receive a copy of their performance.

The fee for the workshop is 250$ CAN, payable by cheque or bank transfer upon confirmation of participation.

Application Process

All applicants must complete the application form (doc) and send it to (members of an ensemble should send individual application forms).

As indicated on the form we ask for recent recordings of 2 pieces, at least one as video. Do not send digital files but give web links (YouTube, SoundCloud, web page, etc). The recording should contain music that demonstrates the technical and interpretive qualities of the individual auditioning and should contain contemporary music.
